Digitalis or foxglove produce a showy display with their long, slender stalks producing bell-shaped flowers available in shades of pink, peach, purple and white, looking particularly good placed at the back of a border to create height. Ultimate height of 1.5-2.5 meters.
This is a perfect addition to any garden, especially a wild, woodland garden attracting wildlife and insects.
A popular biennial, perennial if the flower stems are cut back promptly to prevent seeding, with foliage colour in autumn and early spring then bursting into life with an abundance of blooms in late spring/early summer.
Preferring parcel shade to shady areas, but can tolerate full sun and thriving in moist but well-drained soil.
